Winslow Homer's Minerva

My pleasures in researching Minerva Township of Winslow Homer’s time, for five years, however sporadic, can never be measured; from walking the cemeteries, interviewing the old-timers, and meetings with their great Historical Society.

Essex County is a treasure-lode for historians. In today’s vernacular, Homer would have said, “So, what’s not to like about it?”

A special thanks to all the past scholars who recorded in print their thoughts and research on Homer.

My appreciation to Nicolai Cikovsky, David Tatham, Jim Crawford, Bob Demarest, Jim Wright, Mrs. Martha L. Fosburgh Wilson, and Dr. Mark Sullivan, who have cheerfully pointed me in the right direction.

To the countless other people who generously helped me along; I offer my sincerest appreciation.

A prayer and good-night to the late Doris Wells, Town of Minerva Historian, who made this all happen.
