Winslow Homer's Minerva
by Peter G. Mc Shane

Recent research of a newly discovered portrait brought breakthrough discoveries by Peter G. McShane and has excited Homer scholars.

With new found areas never before examined and the documented results published in the respected Minerva Historical Society Quarterly many opportunities have emerged for scholarly discourse.

Homer saw his portrait not as a mere painting, but as an expression of the American pioneering culture, unique in its completeness.

No doubt Homer was pleased to have presented it to his Adirondack friend.
